Emily Taylor is a teacher at the International School of Carpina. She came to Brazil in 2008 for the first time. At that time, she didn't plan on becoming a missionary to Brazil, but has becoming passionate about what God is doing in northeastern Brazil.

On top of teaching at the International School, Emily teaches English at the Community Church in Lagoa de Itaenga. A desire of many Brazilians is learning English. This desire opens many doors within the community. Teaching English within the community churches allows the pastors to begin to build relationships with people outside the church in order to share the Gospel with them. Last semester, in Lagoa de Itaenga, about forty students attended the English class taught in the church by Emily, Jeff, Lindsay, & Pastor Ricardo. Recently one of the students chose to give her life to the Lord. By offering English classes the church shows itself to be a place where people are important.

This same desire to learn English draws parents to enroll their students in the International School of Carpina, while the ministry's goal remains guiding them to a living relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Emily Taylor is a graduate of Indiana University, where she received a degree in Elementary Education. She is currently receiving her ESL certification through on-line classes from IUPUI (Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis).
